Lirael (Abhorsen #2) by Garth Nix Review

SONY DSC

Welcome to my first ever book review on Lily Jean’s Books and Tea Blog. The review that I am going to do is on Lirael the second book of the Abhorsen series by Garth Nix.

It’s about a 14 year old girl called Lirael who is waiting to have the power of sight to see into the future and become clayr in the Glacier, but the most powerful clayr decided it will be a good idea for her to get a job and she decided she wants to work in a library where she will end up exploring around different areas along with her dog companion, ‘The Disreputable Dog.’

There is obviously a lot more in the book but I don’t want to go into too much detail as I don’t want to reveal any spoilers, but all I can say if you definitely interested in fantasy, magic, action, necromancers, Death, and animal companions then this is the book for you.

But if you are interested I recommend reading the first book of the series called Sabriel as it will give you more background on the previous characters that will pop up a few times on Lirael and also gives you an idea on the locations through out the story and gives a whole atmosphear as well. But overall it was thrilling, exciting, intense, a bit witty and cannot put it down.

I love Lirael’s character development and I though the dog companion gives a nice charm to the story. So I am going to give Lirael.
